Spalted elm with alumilite inlay
Description:
This ring box is turned from a nice spalted piece of white elm and features an inlay of alumilite resin in the lid and a band of walnut at the joint between the lid and base. The alumilite inlay is shades of dark brown and gold and is framed by a delicate bead. The walnut banding ensures that the spalting and grain lines match up almost perfectly. Texturing on the bottom of the lid and on the bottom of the box provide a little surprise when the box is handled or opened. Finished with lacquer and buffed to a pleasant sheen
