This box is turned from black cherry (Prunus serotina) and features yellow cedar (Callitropsis nootkatensis) burl inlay in the lid that is offset from the center line of the box. The inlay is framed with a ring of texturing and a fine grove. Texturing on the bottom and inside of the box provide a little additional surprise when the box is handled or opened. Finished with varnish and then buffed to a high-gloss finish, this box feels as good as it looks, and will only get better with time.
