This hour glass shaped box is turned from black walnut box (Juglans nigra) and features a yellow cedar burl (Callitropsis nootkatensis) inlay. The inlay is a picture frame inlay so it is visible on the inside of the lid too. The inlay is framed by a bead and ring of texturing on the outside, and a simple delecate bead on the inside. A simple kerf decorates the seam between the lid and the base, and additional texturing on both the bottom and inside provide a little surprise when the box is opened or handled.
