Walnut with curly maple inlay
Description:
This box is turned from a straight grain piece of walnut and has an exceptionally tight grained piece of maple inlaid into the top. The inlay was done using Chris Stott's window technique - which makes the inlay visible on the underside of the lid. The lid itself has a slightly flared top and is separated from the base by a small kirf or groove. The bottom of the box has a textured flower to provide a little additional surprise when the box is handled.
