Maple hourglass with hybrid inlay
Description:
This delicate little hour glass shaped box in hard maple features an inlay in the lid made from and Australian burl and Alumilite. The inlay was done using Chris Stott's window technique meaning that it is visible on both the inside and outside of the box. A delicate bead frames the inlay on the inside of the box, while the out side is embellished with a ring of texturing between two beads. The wood itself is pleasantly figured, and texturing on the bottom of the box provides a little interest when the box is handled.
