This box is turned from black cherry (Prunus serotina) and features a black palm (Borassus flabellifer) inlay in the lid that is offset from the center line of the box. The inlay is framed with a ring of texturing and a fine grove. Texturing on the bottom and inside of the box provide a little additional surprise when the box is handled or opened. Finished with a blend of oil and varnish and then buffed to a semi-gloss finish, this box feels as good as it looks, and will only get better with time.
