This round bottom box is turned from black cherry and features an inlay of Thuya burl. The inlay was done using Chris Stott's window technique, so it is visible on the inside of the lid too. A declicate bead frames the inlay on both the inside and outside of the lid. Beads also decorate the joint between the box base and lid. Texturing on the bottom of the box and inside the box provide a little extra surprise when the box is handled or opened. The inlay was done as part of a demonstration on decorative box inlays at the Simcoe Wood Turners Guild earlier this year.
