The main part of this platter has been turned from black cherry (Prunus serotina) and features a beautiful broad rim made from curly hard maple(Acer saccharum). The seam between the rim and the base is decorated with a delicate bead (or beads) that provide a little additional interest and tactile feel. The bottom of the platter has been adorned with some concentric rings and a textured flower in the center, illustrating that the bottom was turned with as much care and skill as the rest of the plate. Finished with food-safe linseed oil finish to really bring out the grain and make the wood pop, the appearance of this platter will only get better with time. This platter is perfect for serving buns or deserts at you next dinner party or as a base for the center piece on your dining room table.
