This hour glass shaped box is turned from white ash (Fraxinus americana) and features an inlay cast from Alumilite resin. The wood features some subtle curly figure and several prominent grain lines that provide additional character and interest. The Alumilite resin was coloured with green and pewter pearlescent powder and has incredible depth and shimmer that almost appears three dimensional. The inlay features a subtle bevel is framed by a simple delicate bead. A simple kerf decorates the seam between the lid and the base, and texturing on both the bottom and inside provide a little surprise when the box is opened or handled. Finished with a oil-varnish blend, and buffed to a satin sheen this box feels as good as it looks.
