This classic shaped box is turned from a beautiful piece of curly white ash(Fraxinus americana) and features a delicate bead where the lid meets the base and a subtle ogee curve in the lid. The curly figure in this piece of white ash is has unusual depth - giving the box an almost 3-dimensional shimmer and chatoyance as you view it from different angles, making it truly one of a kind. Texturing has been applied to both the bottom of the box and in the inside of the lid to provide a little surprise when the box is handled or opened. The wood has been infused with plastic, stabilising resin, so it is harder, heavier and more durable than untreated wood, yet still retains off of its natural beauty. A Tung oil finish enhances the natural depth and shimmer of the wood, and has been buffed to a pleasant sheen, but still give it a natural wood feeling.
