This little box is turned from a nicely figured piece of quina (Myroxylon peruiferum) which is sometime also known as Argentine sandalwood and features considerable depth and shimmer. The box was turned in a way that ensures continuous grain from the body through the lid. The lid has a loose fit inside the body- you can easily remove the lid without lifting or upsetting the base. Concentric rings on both the underside of the lid and the underside of the base provide a little surprise when the box is opened or handled. Finished with lacquer and polished to a pleasant shine, this box is as nice to hold as it is to look at. The perfect place for your most precious keepsakes or jewelry.
