This traditionally shaped box is turned from a piece of hard maple and features a burl inlay in the lid. The colour of the burl is only slightly darker than the rest of the box, and is framed by a ring of texturing nestled between two delicate beads. Additional texturing on the underside of the lid and the bottom of the box provide an additional surprise when the box is handled or opened. Two small beads highlight the joint where the lid and base meet, and a small bark inclusion in the base adds additional character and figure to the piece, making it one of a kind. Finished with lacquer and buffed to a silky-smooth, semi-gloss sheen.
