This small decorative bowl was turned from white ash and has a wide rim that has been decorated with various shades of dark green, blue, and gold acrylic paints. The paints were applied poured onto the rim of the bowl and allowed to run and interact naturally, creating all kinds of intricate lines, gradients, and patterns. The paint was then top-coated with several layers of high gloss polyurethane to provide protection and depth to the final finish. The back of the bowl features a simple, yet elegant curve. The bottom of the foot has been decorated with a textured medallion which serve to demonstrate that the bottom of the platter was turned with as much care and attention to detail as the rest of the piece.
