This is a delicate ring box turned from a nicely figured piece of cocobolo (Dalbergia retusa) and features a textured inlay in the lid made from African blackwood (Dalbergia melanoxylon). The blackwood inlay has been textured with radiating lines of texture framed by a delicate bead. Addition texture on the bottom of the base and the inside of the lid serve as a little surprise when the box is opened or handled. A small kerf decorates the seam between the lid and base, but doesn't detract from the almost perfect grain alignment. The fit of the lid is a suction fit - meaning that it will stay together when the boxed is picked up quickly by the lid, but is very easy to remove with a second hand. This is a beautiful little box for your most precious jewellery or keepsakes that should be in your family for generations.
