Bubginga Box with Bigleaf Maple Burl Inlay
Description:
This bell shaped box is turned from Bubinga (Guibourtia spp.) and features an inlay of Bigleaf maple burl in the lid. The inlay is a window inlay, meaning that it is visible on the inside too. A delicate bead frames the inlay both the inside and outside surfaces. A pair of beads decorate the seam between the lid and the base, and texturing on the bottom and inside bottom provide a little surprise when the box is handled and opened. The box is finished with lacquer and buffed to high gloss.
