This hour glass shaped box is turned from Bocote (Cordia spp.), a hardwood that is native to Mexico and Central and South America. The lid of this box features a ring of texturing on, while additional texturing on both the bottom and inside of the lid provide a little surprise when the box is opened or handled. A simple kerf decorates the seam between the lid and the base without disrupting the lines of the form.
