This decorative platter was turned from a Hard Maple(Acer saccharum) and features a wide rim that has been coloured with blue, black and purple aniline dyes. The dyes were applied in multiple overlapping spokes of colour that provide incredible depth and visual interest - the radiating spokes of colour create the resemblance of an iris. The back of the platter is not coloured, and features a graceful ogee profile, a subtle ring foot and some texturing inside the foot to server notice that the bottom was turned with as much care and attention as the rest of the piece. This piece is a real eye catcher and will look great as a centre piece on your dinning room table or on a shelf in your living room.
