This bowl was turned from a nicely coloured piece of Hard Maple (Acer saccharum) that features both darker heartwood, lighter sapwood, and even some curly figure. The outside of the bowl has been decorated with a series of large beads that were subsequently painted with cranberry coloured milk paint. The rim of bowl is slopes invitingly inwards and is undercut, producing distinct shadow line that emphasizes the bowl interior. The very bottom of the bowl features a subtle ring foot, the interior of which has been decorated with textured pattern that illustrates that the bottom of the bowl was turned with as much attention and detail as the rest of the bowl. Finished with a non-toxic linseed oil surface, this piece is ready to go to work in your kitchen and will only get better with age.
