This decorative out flowing natural edge bowl was turned from black walnut (Juglans nigra). The form perfectly showcases the contrast between the dark heartwood, the lighter sapwood and the even darker bark. The bowl sits on a flat simple base that curves gracefully upwards to the bark rim. A curly maple butter fly has been inlaid into the side of the bowl to fix a minor imperfection in the wood. The bottom of the bowl has been decorated with several concentric rings and a delicate texture to serve as proof that it was turned with as much care and attention as the rest of the bowl. Finished with several coats of danish oil and polished to a pleasant silky sheen, this bowl is as nice to hold as it is to look at. An heirloom quality item that will be in your family for generations.
