Traditional Round bottom Ailanthus Box

Description:

This classic form is turned from straight grained Ailanthus. Often considered an invasive species outside of its range, Ailanthus is light and has an almost 3-dimensional depth in the light. Two beads separate the top from the base. Chatter work on the bottom of the box and the underside of the lid provide a little surprise when the box is handled and opened. The round bottom of the box is almost a complete hemisphere giving the box a neat roly-poly action when set on a flat surface.
