Spalted Maple Sphere
Description:
This sphere is turned from a nicely piece of spalted hard maple (Acer saccharum) which allows to turn it in your hands and view if from any angle. It is simply mesmerizing. A small walnut base provides the sphere with a safe perch to keep it in one place. The walnut of the pedestal compliments the maple nicely but does not compete for your attention. The pedestal is textured on both the top and bottom surfaces to provide a little additional interest. A real conversation starter.
