Silver Maple Marcolongo Box
Description:
This box is turned from an exceptionally curly piece of silver maple and features an offset lid with an amboynia burl inlay. The wood has considerable curl, with some dark contrasting heart wood and several holes from long-gone wood boring insects that provide tonnes of visual interest. The joint between the lid and the base is decorated with a pair of delicate beads. Texturing frames the burl inlay, and provides decoration on the box bottom and the underside of the lid.
