This bell shaped box is turned from Pau Rosa (Bobgunnia fistuloides), a beautiful, but under utilized wood from Africa. This box features a inlay made from big leaf maple burl that is framed with a simple, but well defined bead. The box itself is a simple bell shape, that flares slightly at the top. A small kerf decorates the seam between the lid and the base but does not interrupt the clean simple lines of the form. Texturing on the bottom of the box and the underside of the lid provide a little surprise when the box is handled or opened. Finished with Tung Oil and buffed to a pleasant sheen, this box is a pleasure to handle.
