Movingui Pill Box with Thuya Burl Inlay
Description:
This delicate little pill box was turned from Movingui (a.k.a - Nigerian Satinwood) and features an offset thuya burl inlay in the lid. The inlay is wrapped in black veneer which separates the inlay from the background wood and really makes it pop. The inlay was actually done as part of a demonstration at the Grey Bruce Wood Turners guild earlier in the year. In addition to the inlay in the top, this box has texturing on the bottom, and inside surfaces to provide a little extra interest when it is handled and open. Finished with lacquer and buffed to a high gloss.
