This diminutive bowl is turned from a Manitoba Maple (Acer negunda) and features a natural edge that was once the outside of the tree. The wood itself has all kinds of character and figure that almost shimmers in the light. This bowl was turned to finish form and thickness and then allowed to dry so it has warped a little which provides additional interest and an unmistakable organic feel. The form itself is light and delicate with an elegant foot that raises the bowl off of the surface it is sitting on. Finished with Danish oil and then buffed to a pleasant shine, this bowl feels as good as it looks and just begs to be picked up and handled.
