This little box is turned from a nicely figured piece of apple wood that features a subtle, but distinct contrast between darker heart wood and lighter sapwood. The box was turned in a way that ensures continuous grain from the body through the lid. The lid has a delicate fit inside the body - you can lift the entire box by the lid, but it comes off easily. Texturing on both the underside of the lid and the underside of the base provide a little surprise when the box is opened or handled.
