This wide rimmed bowl was turned from a nicely figured piece of Manitoba Maple (Acer negunda) and coloured with aniline dyes. The form itself features a graceful continuous curve on the underside, while the broad rim was turned with a subtle curved surface to showcase the curl in the wood. The rim was coloured with aniline dyes that transition from orange-yellow in the center to a deep intense orange at the rim. The very edge of bowl has been painted black which clearly deliniates the top and bottom surfaces and frames the coloured rim. The rim has been finished with a durable, high-gloss instrument finish and buffed to a glass like surface. This piece is a real eye catcher and will look great as a centre piece on your dinning room table or on a shelf in your living room.
