This simple bowl is turned from an interesting piece of hophornbeam (Ostrya virginiana) which is among the hardest, most durable North American hardwords. This particular piece of wood piece features considerable figure and some sapwood to provide even more interest and character. The form itself is simple and understated, with an inward sloping and slightly undercut rim and a subtle reverse curve at the base, this bowl just feels to handle and looks good too. Finished with food safe linseed oil to bring out the figure, the appearance of this bowl will only get better with time. Perfect for serving side dishes at the dinner table or popcorn on movie night.
