This decorative bowl was turned from a nicely figured piece of Manitoba Maple (Acer negunda) and coloured with aniline dyes. The form itself features a graceful curve on the underside, while the rim was turned with a subtle curved surface to showcase the curl in the wood. The rim was coloured with yellow, orange and red aniline dyes applied in a gradient from the centre out creating a sunburst effect. The very out rim was painted black to delineate and frame the colour. The rim has been finished with a durable, high-gloss instrument finish and buffed to a glass like surface. This piece is a real eye catcher and will look great as a candy dish in your kitchen or on a shelf in your living room.
